Welcome to Kirklees Summer Play Camp!
Kirklees Summer Camp runs in the summer holidays and is open to children in school years 4-7. We are an experienced charitable organisation, staffed by volunteers. It's our mission to ensure all children have access to great summer experiences, regardless of their financial situation.
Camp is all about making memories that last a lifetime. Children build new friendships, share adventures, and enjoy time outdoors - all while switching off from phones and screens. It’s a chance to laugh, play, and grow together in a unique camp community.
Activities

From our 'Big Three': archery, climbing wall, and cave bus, to waterslide, team challenges, woods games, and evenings around the campfire - every day at camp is packed with adventure.
Kirklees Summer Play Camp is a dedicated voluntary organisation led by a team with decades of experience. Our group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers brings skills from schools, universities, and the wider world of work - creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for every camper.

For many years, Kirklees Summer Play Camp has proudly welcomed Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) participants, offering a unique way to complete the residential section of the award.
At camp, you’ll join our team of enthusiastic leaders, support children through fun activities, and develop real skills in teamwork, confidence, and leadership — all while experiencing the buzz of camp life.
If you’re an aspiring young leader ready to take on a rewarding adventure, our Gold DofE programme could be the perfect fit.

Every child’s place at summer camp is subsidised as we know that all families struggle with the cost of childcare and activities in the summer. We need to raise around £3000 per year to keep our cost as low as possible and invest in new kit and play equipment each year. Please help us by fundraising in any way you can.
