2021 SUMMER CAMP
The Camp is open to children aged 9 to 12 years inclusive and is run by an experienced voluntary organisation; staffed by volunteers who have a wide range of experience in schools, university, and the wider world of work. We also offer a number of subsidised places for children from low income families.
Hurray - our children’s bookings are open!
The news is looking so much better for the summer so our plans are moving ahead quickly. We are very excited and looking forward to the field, the children and the sun! Our Aspiring Leader bookings have been open since December and places are filling quickly.
We are introducing 3 temporary changes for the children’s bookings for next year only.
First, we will accept some bookings for children who are 13. To be eligible you should have booked your child onto Camp 2020, or had intended to, and it would have been their last year at camp. You must be sure that they are able to follow the Children’s Code of Conduct and that when they have attended in the past, they have followed the Code of Conduct.
Second, we recognise that families are really struggling at the moment. So, if you are not eligible for an assisted place but are sending more than one child, we will offer a £20 refund for other children in the family. They must be brothers or sisters in the same family. You will be able to apply for refund after you have made all your bookings.
Third, our successful fundraising means that the cost of an assisted place has been reduced to £20.50 and we have increased the number of assisted places available.
We hope that this helps our children and families and hope that we will see you all in the summer. Please be assured that our planning for the summer will follow government guidelines and best practice. We will do all we can to keep your children safe.
If Covid starts to go in the wrong direction and we have to cancel then, like last year, we will refund all the money paid.
See you in the summer!

Work with us!
We offer a programme for aspiring young leaders to come to camp and learn new skills.
For decades we have been supporting young people to complete their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award (D of E)
We can offer a residential volunteering experience for young people completing the D of E Gold Programme.
The Community Foundation For The People Of Kirklees
Kirklees Summer Play Camp has been supported with a funding grant from One Community, the Kirklees Community Foundation
Every child’s place at summer camp is subsidised as we know that all families struggle with the cost of childcare and activities in the summer. We need to raise around £3000 per year to keep our cost as low as possible and invest in new kit and play equipment each year. Please help us by fundraising in any way you can.
You can also help us by shopping online through easyfundraising and naming us as your charity – Kirklees Summer Playscheme Camp. It adds 2 clicks to your shop but raises money for us each time. It has all the big retailers and online shops on the website. www.easyfundraising.org.uk
