2022 SUMMER CAMP
The Camp is open to children aged 9 to 12 years inclusive and is run by an experienced voluntary organisation; staffed by volunteers who have a wide range of experience in schools, university, and the wider world of work. We also offer a number of subsidised places for children from low income families.
Hurray - our children’s bookings are open!
We are very excited about 2022 and are looking forward to the field, the children and the sun! Our Aspiring Leader places are fully booked and we have some great new people coming to volunteer with us this summer as well as the established team.
If you would like your child to come to camp then you can book online through our booking page. The dates for this year are:
Camp 1 Mon 25 – Thurs 28 July
Camp 2 Fri 29 July – Mon 1 Aug
Camp 3 Weds 3 – Sat 6 Aug
Camp 4 Sun 7 – Weds 10 Aug
Camp 5 Fri 12 – Mon 15 Aug
Camp 6 Tues 16 – Fri 19 Aug
Thanks to our fundraising and generous supporters we have been able to reduce the cost of an assisted place for low-income families to £10 and maintain the cost of a full price place at £61. The cost covers travel from a central pick up, accommodation
food and all activities for 3 nights and 4 days.
Make sure that you book early to be sure of a place on you preferred camp.
We are introducing some changes to our leadership team this year as Jane and Duncan are handing over the leadership of camp to a leadership team of experienced Summer Camp volunteers led by Fran. She is a teacher, SENCo and Assistant Head in a secondary school and she has been involved with the Summer Camp for over 20 years. Jane and Duncan are still involved and will be there all summer offering advice and support.
See you in the summer and we hope that your children will have the best summer ever with lots of play, fun and laughter and new friends.

Work with us!
We offer a programme for aspiring young leaders to come to camp and learn new skills.
For decades we have been supporting young people to complete their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award (D of E)
We can offer a residential volunteering experience for young people completing the D of E Gold Programme.
Every child’s place at summer camp is subsidised as we know that all families struggle with the cost of childcare and activities in the summer. We need to raise around £3000 per year to keep our cost as low as possible and invest in new kit and play equipment each year. Please help us by fundraising in any way you can.
You can also help us by shopping online through easyfundraising and naming us as your charity – Kirklees Summer Playscheme Camp. It adds 2 clicks to your shop but raises money for us each time. It has all the big retailers and online shops on the website. www.easyfundraising.org.uk
